Vintage 1947 Egyptian King Farouk Cholera Resistance Commemorative Medal with Industry Box, Excellent Condition. This rare medal was presented by King Farouk of Egypt to Red Crescent medical personnel and nurses for their work during the 1947 cholera epidemic in Egypt. The medal measures approximately 1 3/8" in diameter and retains the original ribbon and pin. The obverse is the image of King Farouk. The reverse is an image of an Egyptian female farmer receiving an anti-cholera injection. The Arabic inscription reads: "Commemorative Medal - Resistance to Cholera - 1947."
