Astonishing Ancient Egyptian faience amulet depicting a deity Sobek in a full zoomorphic form of a crocodile floating on stylized water. It's an extremely rare depiction of a deity characteristic for the Middle Kingdom period (2040 BC - 1782 BC). Animal has a finely modeled elongated, naturalistic body with a defined dorsal ridge and snout. Talisman has undergone a professional clearance process to highlight a beautiful blue hue of the glaze without removing all naturally preserved earthen encrustations from the surface. Artifact includes a Certificate of authenticity document.
*Sobek was one of the most important Egyptian deities associated with strength, fertility, and protection, was revered as the lord of the Nile waters and guardian of the pharaoh. Amulets with the image of deity were worn as protective charms, believed to endow the wearer with vitality, fertility, and divine safeguarding
