【Product details】
This set of twelve tanzaku-format woodblock prints by Kyoto artist Tokuriki Tomikichiro (1902–2000) is titled Kyō Jūni-dai Tanzaku (Twelve Views of Kyoto). Published during the Showa period by Unsodo, it captures seasonal scenes of Kyoto’s iconic landmarks, blending traditional ukiyo-e aesthetics with vibrant 20th-century style.
Tokuriki, a key figure in Kyoto’s creative print movement, trained at the Kyoto City School of Arts and Crafts and founded his own woodblock printing studio. He was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure and the Kyoto City Cultural Merit Award.
Each print represents a Kyoto landmark by month:

• February: Sanjō Ōhashi Bridge
• March: Kiyomizu-dera
• April: Byōdō-in
• May: Sanjūsangen-dō
• June: Yase-Ōhara
• July: Heian Shrine
• August: Hozugawa River
• September: Fushimi Inari
• October: Nijō Castle
• November: Shugakuin Villa
• December: Gion Yasaka Shrine
